A Wonderful User-Friendly Pediatric Pulse Oximeter “Armed”

Indications for Use

The digital pediatric pulse oximeter “Armed” is a portable, non penetrating device for oxygenated arterial hemoglobin (SpO2) and pulse rate measuring. The appliance is suitable for adults as well as for children at home and in the hospital environment (including therapeutic and surgical clinical investigation, anesthesia, intensive care, etc.). The device is not intended for continuous monitoring.

The Armed pulse oximeter does not require preventive calibration or maintenance (except for battery change).

Application Safety Measures
-The operation of the Armed pediatric pulse oximeter can be influenced by the work of the electrosurgery unit.
-It's necessary for the oximeter to have an opportunity to properly measure the pulse rate in order for a patient to get an accurate data on SpO2. Before a patient initiates measurement of SpO2, s/he should make sure that nothing impedes the pulse rate measuring process.
-It's forbidden to employ the Armed pediatric pulse oximeter in the conditions of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computerized tomography (CT).
-It's forbidden to use the appliance in cases when a signaling device is required. The pulse oximeter is not equipped with a signaling device.
-Explosion hazard: it is forbidden to employ the hemoglobin and pulse measuring device in a dangerously explosive environment.
-The Armed pediatric pulse oximeter can be used only as a supplementary device for assessment of the state of a patient. It should be applied together with other methods of assessment of clinical signs and symptoms.
-It's necessary to regularly examine the place of attachment of the pulse oximeter\'s sensing element to properly identify the place of attachment of the sensing element and characterize the blood circulation and the cutaneous sensibility of a patient.
- It's forbidden to stretch the adhesive plaster while employing the sensing element of the Armed pulse oximeter. This can result in an imprecise reading data or skin blister appearance.
-It's necessary to attentively read the instruction manual before application of the pediatric pulse oximeter.
-The oximeter is not equipped with an SpO2-level signaling device. It is not intended for continuous monitoring, which is indicated by a special symbol.
-Continuous application of the hemoglobin and pulse measuring oximeter or the patient\'s condition can require periodical change of the place of attachment of the sensing element. It is recommended to change the place of attachment of the sensing element, check the skin integrity and the blood circulation condition, and adjust the device every 4 hours.
Distinctive Features of the Armed Pediatric Pulse Oximeter
-Simplicity and ease of usage.
-The device is small-size, has a lightweight design (the total weight including the batteries equals 50g), and is easily carried.
-The power consumption of the oximeter is low; two AAA batteries available with the device ensure continuous 30-hour running of the appliance.
-The device is automatically turned off if the signal is absent during the time term of more than 8 seconds.
